The RMS Titanic was an Olympic class passenger liner that was produced by the White Star Line.  It has entered American folkloric proportions by becoming the worst civilian naval casualty during peacetime.  During the tragic day when the Titanic sank, 1,517 people died.  It happened on April 15, 1912, a time when technical innovations were dominating the imaginations of people all over the world. 

In 1912, she was the biggest passenger steamship on Earth.  Ironically, she was advertised as unsinkable.  After hitting an iceberg, it took two hours and forty minutes for her to go down.  The wreck has since become something close to a myth as we are still in awe of the happening on that infamous day and all the details that were uncovered since.  Titanic model ships depict the boat beautifully and point to its awesome power and majesty.
